Home Information Packs

Home Information Packs will become mandatory from the 1st August 2007 for all properties which are four bedroomed or larger (with one or two exceptions). It is anticipated that all properties will eventually require a HIP, but this will be phased in over a timescale yet to be decided.

Providing a HIP has been set in motion, houses can be placed on the market without delay on the basis that the information will become readily available at an early opportunity.

The results of the 'dry run' conducted by the Government have yet to be processed and there may still be further changes to the format or timescale - please contact your local Sandersons office for further information.

Contrary to previous intentions there will be no Home Condition Report within the Home Information Pack and any Energy Performance Certificate which may be required can be obtained during the marketing process which will allow for a property to be offered for sale without undue delay.
